Most agents plan to make adjustments to their volunteer directory plans over the next six to 12 months, with nearly 75% making plans to transfer to the call center or phone records, and most making plans to reduce face-to-face meetings (group and/or individual), to transfer to online records, self-service and virtual meetings (group and/or individual) using “Zoom” or other video logging technology. Effects on voluntary participation of registration are expected as a result of these adjustments. are mainly negative, a quarter of agents expect more workers to register or expect no impact.
Despite considerations and changes in enrollment, when asked whether COVID-19 will have a positive or negative effect on employers’ enthusiasm for voluntary benefits over the next 12 months, about a third of agents continue to believe that employers will be more enthusiastic (34% of agents surveyed in July versus 39% in the August study).
The brokers shared their perspectives on a variety of other issues similar to the effects of COVID-19, adding the ability to meet earnings targets this year; Degree of replacement in the voluntary sale activity; Changes / offers of desired products both classic and non-classic; Employers’ interest in non-classical benefit offers; satisfaction with carrier reaction and desired carrier progressive support spaces, and monetary relief measures for desired carriers at the employer and worker level.
