British Prime Minister Boris Johnson told others on Tuesday to paint from home if possible and ordered bars and restaurants to close earlier in an effort to combat a fast-spreading Covid-19 momentary wave.
After government scientists warned that the mortality rate would rise without urgent action, Johnson said new restrictions in England could last only six months, which he did not prevent before applying another full blockade.
“I am sorry to say that, as in Spain and France and in many countries, we have reached a dangerous turning point,” Johnson told parliament after emergency meetings with ministers and leaders of the UK’s decentralized governments.
Just weeks after urging others to return to their workplaces, Johnson begged staff to stay home if he could.
He ordered all pubs, bars, restaurants and other reception venues to close at 10 p. m. Starting Thursday with table service allowed.
Face masks will be needed in more contexts, corporations that violate regulations will be fined and others who fail to comply will be strengthened more seriously, he said.
However, schools and universities will remain open. He’s going to have a televised showdown on the country at 7 p. m. GMT.
Government advisers said the number of new instances could be successful at 50,000, according to the day until mid-October.
Johnson warned that new restrictions may be imposed if the new measures work.
“We will not pay attention to those who say the virus is tearing, nor to those who are asking for a permanent shutdown,” he said. “We are taking decisive and appropriate steps to strike a balance between saving lives and protection work and livelihoods. “. “
