British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Friday announced a suspension of at least two weeks to ease restrictions on coronaviruses in England.
A loosening of the restrictions originally planned for the weekend.
The move comes shortly after the government imposed restrictions on parts of northern England following an increase in the rate of transmissions.
Among the changes, Johnson said wedding receptions for up to 30 others will no longer be allowed from August 1, and that bowling alleys, casinos and ice rinks will remain closed.
Face masks, already needed in indoor and indoor shipping centers, will also soon be mandatory in other contexts.
Speaking at a televised press convention on Downing Street, Johnson said it’s time to “press the brake pedal to keep this virus under control.”
He also warned, introducing the latest figures from the Office of National Statistics, that “the prevalence of the virus in the network in England is probably accumulating for the first time since May.”
To date, the UK has recorded nearly 304,000 cases of coronavirus, with 46084 similar deaths, according to knowledge compiled through Johns Hopkins University.
The UK is just a time for Russia because of the number of Covid-19 infections in Europe.
