The British Medical Journal on Wednesday, a calculator capable of predicting the death threat of coronavirus patients, the Daily Mail reported.
The calculator has a checklist that includes: age, sex, number of comorities or other problems with physical condition, breathing rate, oxygen saturation levels, level of consciousness, urea level, amount of circulating protein in the blood showing inflammation.
The calculator has a score between 0 and 21. This device will be used on the front of hospitals.
If a patient gets a high score, they can be rushed to the intensive care unit; those with a low score will be returned.
This calculator will also involve overwhelming crowds in hospitals due to coronavirus.
Researchers developed the application after testing it on more than 57,000 patients in the UK, who were 74 years old on average.
The calculator ranks Americans into 4 groups: “low risk,” “average risk,” “maximum risk,” or “very high risk. “
Researchers reported that patients with a score of less than 3 have less than 1% death.
However, patients with scores of nine or more will be at higher risk, with a 50% chance of death, while others over the age of 15 have a 62% chance of dying, the Daily Mail report added.
This comes at a time when the UK is at the moment a wave of the virus and the country has noticed a sudden increase in the number of virus cases.
According to a Telegraph report, the maximum rate is emerging as fast as in April this year.
The Telegraph also analyzed knowledge published through Public Health England, which shows that new infections double every nine days, compared to 20 days a week.
This sudden increase is likely to exceed hospitals and quarantine centres.
