Brazil won its first match of the 2022 World Cup in Group G, while Richarlison scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Serbia at Lusail Stadium.
The tournament favourites struggled in the first half, struggling to create plenty of chances as Serbia inspired with their hard paint pace and defensive form.
But Brazil were another team at the time and discovered the breakthrough when Richarlison was the first to jump after Vinicius Jr. ‘s shot was stopped in the 62nd minute.
However, the Tottenham striker’s moment in the 73rd minute was exceptional: calmly controlling in the area, he put a tremendous scissor shot into the back corner to give his country breathing space and 3 points.
This is how Brazil and Serbia qualified in their first Group G match.
Alisson-6
He won an early duel in the air with Aleksandar Mitrovic, to whom Fulham gave his best on the opening day of the Premier League this season, and he was calm. He spent the 90 minutes largely quiet.
Danilo – 6
Largely nameless in the future. He could have carried more Raphinha, especially compared to the speed of Alex Sandro’s paintings on the other flank, but he seemed largely content to stand still. He made a decisive clearance on the goal line from a Serbian corner in the 70th minute.
Thiago Silva (c) – 7
The 38-year-old has been dominant in his war with Mitrovic and continues to lead this team brilliantly. He gathered the defense with a bit of luck and even made some great passes forward.
Marquinho – 6
Confident in his passing and positioning, the PSG defender did not set foot next to Silva and faced the only risk of Mitrovic and the Fulham team alongside Dusan Vlahovic later.
Alejandro Sandro – 7
He scratched his foot on the post as Brazil pressed for an advance with a hard left-footed shot from long distance and did well to stand up and Vinicius in front of him. Excellent performance.

Casemiro – 7
He controlled the pace in the middle and delivered some fantastic passes into the area. He tested the Serbian goalkeeper with a ferocious shot in the middle of the first half and maintained his same old ability to be in the right position at the right time while Serbia drove the part of the moment. He also came close to a surprise goal with a curling effort that hit the crossbar past the game.
Lucas Paquetá – 6
He played exquisitely in the Raphinha in the first half and took a very important step in events when Serbia was looking for the break. The West Ham boy did not hurt his chances of starting in this tournament.
neymar-6
I tried to get the attack out of the back of my neck, with combined results. Whether it was almost scoring from an early corner or in individual bursts, the Selecao star was at the center of Brazil’s attacking game without achieving a truly decisive result. Moment. He couldn’t turn a difficult opportunity for him just after halftime and softened as the moment progressed. He was replaced with 15 to go, alleviating an ankle problem, and was affected on the bench after his retirement.

Vinicius Jr. – 7
He looked incredibly bright all over the place and his instant shot led to Richarlison’s opening score. He failed to pass in front of Andrija Zivkovic on the left, but he also created the purpose of the moment and his speed made him a consistent start.
Raphael – 5
He rejected Brazil’s most productive opening goal in the first half, dutifully shooting straight to the goalkeeper after a delightful brace with Paquetá, and also failed to convert in the first minute of the moment when he was given a one-on-one. With the display of skill in attack on the bench, the Barcelona full-back worries.
Richarlison – 9
Always provided with the yellow of his country, he was the first to jump to the surface to break the impasse and then marked an absolute resounding for his moment and that of Brazil. Huge, improvised in the area before sticking a scissors in the butt. Corner. 10 points in his last 8 games with his country. The star of Brazil.

Fred – 6
Close to an unlikely goal in the 83rd minute, but his shot stopped well.
Rodrigo – 6
Vinicius’ replacement on the left was encouraged. I got closer with a curl effort in the most sensitive corner.

Vanja Milinkovic-Savic – 7
He magnificently ignored Vinicius Jr. in the first half and came to the rescue of his defense early in the second, blocking Raphinha’s shot. He could do nothing about Richarlison’s goals and made many overdue saves to prevent the deficit from growing. He deserved better.
Vanja Milinkovic-Savic made several stops
Milos Veljkovic-6
Well covered by his defence when Raphinha headed dangerously into the penalty spot at the 30-minute mark, however, he may have reacted more sharply for Brazil’s first of the night.
Filip Mladenovic – 6
Well controlled in the first half and came the onslaught of Brazil after his departure from the pitch. Alternate close to the hour.
Strahinja Pavlović – 6
The caution in the 6th minute was a bit harsh, but she remained disciplined thereafter. He did a big last-minute shot right after the part of the moment about Raphinha, who was largely given most of his one-on-one fight.
Nikola Milenkovic – 6
He made what could have been a fatal mistake just before halftime when the ball slipped past Vinicius Jr. , but he recovered well to make a definitive play: it wasn’t the last. He faced the Real Madrid winger alongside the right-back. Zivkovic.
Andrija Zivkovic – 6
He fought against Vinicius Jr. and the Real Madrid winger was strong and fast throughout, he stood firm. Despite this, he looked quite tired when he was substituted in the 57th minute.
Nemanja Gudelj – 6
The Sevilla midfielder’s late clearance of Neymar earned him a well-deserved yellow card just at half-time, but luckily for him it was not the trigger. He was replaced shortly thereafter. He did an admirable job slowing down the game in the middle of the park.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic – 5
He kept his form well in midfield in Serbia’s first half, but then found himself outplayed in midfield as the moment progressed. He shone in the bets of: who was the most productive Milinkovic-Savic?
Sasa Lukic – 5
Simple tackles set the tone for relentless midfield functionality in midfield and looked long-legged during the time he substituted around the hour mark.
Dusan Tadic (c) – 6
He worked hard, but the former Southampton player lacked characteristics when winning the ball in midfield and posed no risk of purpose at midfield.
Aleksandar Mitrovic – 4
Is it possible that concern about your fitness is justified? The Serbian talisman striker did not influence the performances and even struggled with one of his main attributes: holding the ball. I didn’t have the slightest chance. He was replaced with six minutes to play.
