Brazil squad for Copa America 2024: complete list of national players for the CONMEBOL Championship in the United States

Brazil finalized its squad for the 2024 Copa America in early June after coach Dorival Junior made some initials that surprised some Seleçao fans.

Confirmed Premier League players such as Richarlison and Casemiro have been included, but the 17-year-old Endrick will be taking part in his first overseas tournament.

Endrick continued his form with Brazil in June ahead of the Copa America with a winning goal in his team’s 3-2 win over Mexico in front of more than 80,000 cheerleaders in College Station, Texas.

Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson had been removed from the team in the past due to an eye injury he suffered in the Premier League win over Tottenham.   Three new players were then added to the final list, adding Juventus defender Bremer, while Dorival finalised his plans.

This year’s final will offer Brazil the opportunity to regain its prestige as a team in North and South America. The Selecao had a difficult end in 2023 by losing three consecutive qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup, adding at home to world champions Argentina. .

However, a win over England at Wembley Stadium and a thrilling draw against Spain in the March international break have given the organisation a new lease of life and suggest innovations will follow under Dorival, who was unveiled as the new permanent head coach in January.

Although Brazil is not at the level of previous major tournaments (notably, star striker Neymar is absent due to injury), it remains one of the top contenders for glory at this summer’s tournament in the United States.

Teams had the opportunity to nominate provisional groups of up to 55 players for pre-tournament educational camps and friendly matches. These groups had to have a minimum of 35 players and involve at least 4 goalkeepers.

The final squads, which had to be presented until June 15 (for Paraguay, which had until June 18), have a maximum of 26 players. At least 3 of those players will have to be goalkeepers, and all of them will have to be. decided in the provisional staff, in exceptional circumstances.

The following table has been updated with the names in the Brazil squad and the options are correct at the time of the team announcement.

Once the final roster has been made official, adjustments may be made due to injury or illness until the team’s first match of the tournament.

The CONMEBOL tournament regulations stipulate: “In case of serious injury or detection of pathological clinical elements in a player, after the presentation of the list of called-up players, and which causes this player to participate in the tournament, this player will be replaced by a player. “included in the provisional list of call-ups may be admitted up to 24 hours before the team’s first entry into the competition, subject to approval through the CONMEBOL Medical Commission.
