Aez announced on Twitter that he had the virus and would be quarantined for 14 days, after Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez also announced that they had swelled with Covid-19.
“With all my team, we’ve been applying for Bolivian families all this time.And since last week, many of them tested positive for coronavirus, passed a check and also tested positive.I’ll be quarantined for about 14 days until I have a new check to see how I am,” he said in a video posted on his official Twitter account.
“I feel good, I feel strong. I will continue to paint almost from my isolation and I need to thank all the Bolivians who are running in this fitness crisis that we are going through.Together, we’ll move forward. God bless you.”
At least 4 senior officials of the Bolivian government have done so in recent days, adding the Minister of Health, Maria Eidy Roca, the Minister of the Presidency, Yerko Nuez Negrette, the Minister of Mines, Jorge Fernando Oropeza, and the commander of the Armed Forces, General Sergio Orellana.
In Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, the country’s second-in-command, also announced on Thursday that he had tested positive.
The epicenter of the pandemic moved to Latin America last May and the virus spread in the region.Brazil and Mexico reported the highest number of instances and deaths.Brazil has more than 1.7 million instances and more than 69,000 deaths, the time alone for the United States.
Cases in Latin America have contributed to recent record increases in the number of cases.
