The Buffalo Bills had their first positive player checkup on COVID-19, while the adjusted Dawson Knox final tested positive for the new coronavirus in the effects published Saturday.
Knox, who had already been ruled off-game Sunday in front of the New York Jets due to injury, also made the decision to be in close contact with closed wings Lee Smith, Tommy Sweeney and Nate Becker. These 3 have joined Knox on the COVID-19/Reserve list, meaning they won’t play on Sunday.
Of this group, Sweeney has been in the injured reserve all season and was not going to play, and Becker is a member of the practice team. Smith would probably have been active in opposition to the Jets, but now the only closed wings going to New York are Tyler Kroft and Reggie Gilliam.
The Bills announced several elevations to their squad, adding open receiver Duke Williams, cornerman Dane Jackson, offensive lineman Jordan Devey and supporter Andre Smith.
One move that has not been announced is the activation of the offensive lineman from the injured Jon Feliciano reserve, so it appears that he may not make his debut in the season. With Cody Ford injured and Quinton Spain is no longer on the team, the Bills will I have to start with Ike Boettger on left guard with Brian Winters on the right guard.
