Microsoft co-founder and global fitness philanthropist Bill Gates on Sunday criticized the current state of America’s reaction to the Covid-19 pandemic, adding the slowness of time.
Gates told Fox News Sunday that access to immediate testing remains inadequate more than six months after the start of the pandemic and that the United States is ready to deal with a sharp drop in virus cases.
“Even today, other people don’t get their effects in 24 hours. It’s outrageous that we have that,” Gates said.
The United States has experienced more than 6. 7 million Cases of Covid-19, leading to nearly 200,000 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University. This puts the country with a much more consistent infection rate consistent with capita mortality than many others. countries, adding South Korea, Australia, Germany and Canada.
The early stages of the pandemic were characterized by a severe shortage of controls, the number of daily controls has increased significantly over time. Gates said political and fitness leaders will have to publicly recognize that the existing control scenario is insufficient and locate tactics to make the formula more efficient, saying that “we can’t pretend to have a smart score even today. “
“I think we have to admit the fact that we didn’t do a smart job. Part of the reluctance that I believe to correct the check formula now is that no one has to admit that it is still an outrageous Matrix . . . the more machines, the more capacity than other countries through a massive amount. And so, the refund formula component creates a perverse incentive,” Gates said.
On the path of CNN’s “State of the Union,” Admiral Brett Giroir of the Decomposer of Health and Human Services said that the component of explaining why the tests were unsuccessful by 1 million consistent with the day, as predicted, because the rate of new instances had slowed down, reducing the amount of touch search tests needed. He also said the administration would soon distribute $150 million in 15-minute tests.
Cases and hospitalizations have soared in several European countries in recent weeks, which some experts have linked to “pandemic fatigue” as adherence to social estating measures decreases. Daily cases in Spain and France have outperformed the United States after adjusting for the population.
The United States experienced its first outbreak on the West Coast and Northeast states in the spring, and outbreaks spread across the country in the following months. Gates attributed this in a component to restrictions imposed through the Trump administration, which created an “avalanche” of U. S. citizens and citizens returning home at a time when the United States did not have the right quarantine protocols or evidence.
“This led us not only to have a bad spring, we had a rather complicated summer. And, unfortunately, because of seasonality, until we get those new tools, autumn also seems to get complicated,” he told me.
In a message to CNBC, a White House spokesman said President Trump had always prioritized the well-being of other Americans and highlighted the administration’s efforts to help expand a vaccine.
Gates had warned for years of the risks of a fitness emergency such as a pandemic, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has spent billions on fitness and poverty initiatives.
