Nomura defended its name as Japan’s leading commercial supplier.

For the third year in a row, the bank upgraded institutional investors’ rating among the most sensible commercial access providers in Japan, based on feedback from 184 investors from 132 companies. Respondents were asked about five attributes: conferences, logistics, checkout trips, quality equipment, roadshows and virtual events, and Nomura came in first in 3 out of five. Meanwhile, finalist Daiwa Securities Group was identified for its cash trips and roadshows.

To members of Institutional Investor’s 2023 Japan Best Commercial Access Providers, we invited participants in the 2023 Japan All-Japan Research Team and 2023 All-Japan Executive Team surveys to provide feedback on which corporations provided the most productive access to corporations founded on specific attributes.

According to the 2023 survey of the All-Japan Research Team, which represents the buyer’s point of view, we got responses from 184 investors from 132 corporations. This organization rated sales-side corporations on a scale of 1 to five in general commercial access for those characteristics: conferences; Logistics; Excursions; Quality of equipment; Street performance; and virtual events. Each characteristic score is based on the score assigned to the company.

Each vote was weighted through the pollster’s diversity of Japanese commissions and the score assigned to create the ranking. In addition, instant bottom line results were created using assets under management, rather than commissions, as weighting.

According to the 2023 All-Japan Executive Team survey, which represents the business outlook, 85 corporations ranked their most sensible selling corporations based on the following characteristics: investor feedback; Investor filings or ad hoc applications; No-deal roadshows; Reverse roadshows or site visits; and Virtual Conferencing. Each characteristic score is based on the score assigned to the company.

The top 10 corporate access leaders, based on company response, calculated by adding up a company’s characteristic scores to produce a chart of the ten most sensible companies.

The names of interviewees are kept confidential to ensure their continued cooperation. Voters must meet the eligibility criteria and all ballots are submitted for review through II’s Research Operations Group. The effects are also subject to inspection through an independent auditor.
