Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kyleba called the attacks “senseless barbarism” on Twitter. Belarus has a more active role in the confrontation with Ukraine, as Putin’s troops adopt “intensive fighting training” in the country that is now Russia’s closest best friend.
The country is also a key position for Putin to start gathering troops ahead of the February invasion and Russia now has permission from the Belarusian president to attack Ukraine from its territory.
Ties between Russia and Belarus strengthened when Putin sent troops to quell the political turmoil of the 2020 protests after Lukashenko was elected to his sixth term.
Now, Belarus has recalled Ukraine’s ambassador following claims that a Ukrainian missile landed in Belarus on Thursday from fighting between Russia and Ukraine.
An S-300 rocket, which is used in Russia and Ukraine, is claimed to have shot down across Belarus over Brest at around 07:00 GMT.
The region has claimed in the past that the missile may have accidentally deviated from its trajectory.

The missile reportedly landed a few kilometers from the Belarus-Ukraine border in the village of Harbacha.
No casualties were reported from the downed missile.
Anatoly Glaz of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry said: “We demand that Ukraine conduct a thorough investigation of all cases of missile launches, bring the culprits to justice and take comprehensive measures to prevent such incidents from sinking. “Back to the future.
“This can lead to catastrophic consequences for everyone. “
Despite the warnings, a Belarusian official tried to allay concerns following the missile’s landing.

Oleg Konovalov, the army commissioner of the Brest region, issued a video message saying: “Citizens have nothing to fear.
“Unfortunately, those things happen. “
He added that the incident similar to November, when an S-300 fired through Ukraine, reportedly veered off course after landing in Poland.
A Ukrainian army spokesman said the missile that landed in Belarus was a mistake and that the incident “was nothing strange, the result of air defense” and everything that “happened more than once. “
Following an investigation into the downed missile, Belarus’ Defense Ministry said parts of the missile were “found in an agricultural field. “

He added: “During the verification process, it was established that the wreckage belongs to an S-300 anti-aircraft guided missile fired from Ukrainian territory. “
The incident came ten days after the Russian president visited Belarus for talks with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
The talks in which the two leaders discussed the security of the two nations raised fears that Belarus could have an interaction in the conflict.
Before the talks, he stated that Russian troops in Belarus would conduct joint military training with Belarusian troops as a component of a regional force.
