Belarus outlines spaces of precedence for foreign police cooperation

MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) – Belarus is at the 11th consultation of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime. The convention takes place in Vienna in a hybrid format from October 17 to 21, BelTA has learned from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus.

The program includes discussions on preventing and combating trafficking in persons, especially children, as well as other topics related to external cooperation and technical assistance.

Belarusian Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakov supported the cooperation of law enforcement agencies abroad and learned about other areas of precedence.

“We are talking about the fight against cybercrime, human trafficking and illegal migration, arms and drug smuggling, terrorist and extremist activities,” the minister stressed.

In recent years, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, based on the rich experience, professionalism of workers and operational capabilities, has made specific efforts to neutralize and discredit the leaders of organized criminal teams and their accomplices, in order to prevent penetration. of foreign criminals in the country. And, according to Ivan Kubrakov, the ministry is in a position to share this experience.

Belarus will pay the greatest attention to the fight against the new bureaucracy of slavery and actively proposes tactics to improve the effectiveness of measures taken through foreign law enforcement networks to combat this category of crimes. However, in the fight against trafficking in human beings, we occasionally face demanding situations similar to the use of virtual and data technologies in all spheres of public life. As a result, lately we are witnessing the participation of an increasing number of Belarusian citizens in the activities of organized teams abroad and a construction in the number of victims of crimes committed with the culmination of fashionable technological advances. Only through joint efforts by all the States involved will we be able to solve these problems. No single country’s internal strategy will suffice,” the minister stressed.
