BEFORE JC, seeks to stimulate as it reports 68 new cases of coronavirus

There were no new coronavirus deaths in British Columbia on Wednesday, however, the province announced 68 new cases.

Sixty-one of them were on Lower Mainland.

This led the number of active cases in the province to a new record of 798, with 2,452 people self-aising due to possible exposure to the virus.

Health officials also said Wednesday that they would assess test capacity in the face of an increase in the number of cases.

The province said it now has the capacity to conduct approximately 8,000 constant tests per day, however, only 3,500 were contested between Tuesday and Wednesday.

A new verification site opened Wednesday in Vancouver and Vancouver Coastal Health said it is running at the opening of another new site in North Vancouver.

Fraser Health says he has extended opening hours in Burnaby, Delta and Chilliwack, and has simplified operations at Langley and the Surrey-Whalley Primary and Emergency Care Center.

Two new lanes are planned for the Burnaby and are preparing to expand opening hours at Langley and Abbotsford.

New “high-volume temporary” sites are also being prepared in Surrey and the northwestern Fraser region, the fitness authority said.

 

Ten others were hospitalized with COVID-19, while 4 received intensive care.

BEFORE, JC.recorded a total of 4,745 viruses, of which approximately 79% recovered.

The province toll is 198.
