While just another two hundred people have died of COVID-19 since the virus that caused a global pandemic first hit British Columbia, in late January, the rate of new deaths slowed.
British Columbia took 88 days to go from recording its first virus case on January 28 to one hundred deaths on April 25, and then it took the province 117 days to reach the threshold of 200 deaths.
Provincial health warrant officer Réka Gustafson said the two new deaths were in the elderly, across the most affected demographic.
Five deaths followed in August: 24 in March; 87 in April; 53 in May; June 10; and July 21
BEFORE, JC.recorded 80 new COVID-19 infections on August 20, bringing the total number of other people inflamed to 4,825.
The distribution of COVID-19 infections throughout the fitness region is as follows: 1,526 in Vancouver Coastal Health (up to 38); 2,533 at Fraser Health (up to 40); 159 at Island Health (more than one); 411 in Internal Health (unchanged); 121 at Northern Health (up); and 75 other people living outside Canada (unchanged).
For the first time since July 30, the number of cures exceeds the number of new infections.There were 96 other people recovering from the disease in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries of the virus to 3845.two deaths, means there are now 780 other people actively batting COVID-19 in British Columbia, 18 less than yesterday.
Of those with the disease, the vast majority are isolated, however, there are 11 other people in hospitals, adding four in the extensive care units.
One facility has an epidemic: Queen’s Park Care Center in New Westminster.
The outbreak at Richmond Lions Manor in Richmond was declared over, leaving 8 active outbreaks in senior homes: -Holy Family Hospital in Vancouver; Arbutus Center of Attention in Vancouver; The Czorny Alzheimer’s Center in Surrey; Dania Home in Burnaby; Derby Manor in Burnaby; The George Derby Center in Burnaby; Nueva Vista Care Home in Burnaby; Maple Ridge Elder Village at Maple Ridge.
A new network outbreak was reported at a Distribution Center in Loblaws at 2755 190th Street in Surrey, where nine other people tested positive, said Gustafson, who added that everyone who was part of an epidemic in Haida Gwaii has recovered.
