Dubai: The Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI) and the Emirates Cricket Board signed a Memorandum of Understanding and accommodation agreement for cricket relations between the two countries.
“Together with Emirates Cricket Board Vice President Khalid Al Zarooni, I have signed a Memorandum of Understanding and an accommodation agreement between BCCI and Emirates Cricket for cricket ties between our countries,” BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said at a tweet saturday.
BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and treasurer Arun Dhumal were present on the occasion, he added.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) hosts the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) that begins Saturday night with a successful clash between protective champions Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings.
The tournament, which is scheduled for November 10, will be held at 3 venues in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah behind closed doors due to the existing Covid-19 pandemic.
While Dubai will host 24 matches, 20 will be played in Abu Dhabi and 12 in Sharjah in the championship phase. The dates and venues of the playoffs have not yet been announced.
