FLORHAM PARK, New Jersey, 11 August 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – BASF and The Estée Lauder Companies have partnered with the civil society organization Solidaridad Network to supply COVID-19 hygiene kits to more than 1,000 smallholder farmers and their families in the Kanan district of Lampung, Indonesia.

Distributed to approximately 3,000 people, COVID-19 hygiene kits included masks, soap, hand sanitizer and a data brochure. In addition, information banners detailing COVID-19 prevention measures were placed in the seven Way Kanan sub-districts. The KTNA Farmers Association, Business Watch Indonesia and Farmers’ Group leaders helped distribute the kits safely through delivery and door-to-door problems to farmers.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has replaced the global pandemic for many others around the world,” said Daniele Piergentili, BASF’s vice president of home and non-public care in North America. “In addition to giving hand sanitizing gel around the world, we have supported the network of small Indonesian farmers to ensure their fitness and safety. We thank our partners The Estée Lauder Companies and Solidarity Network for this collaboration.

“As a global company driven by deep-seated values, we are committed to helping our long-standing spouses and communities stay safe and healthy,” said Greg Polcer, executive vice president of global supply chain at The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. ” The Estée Lauder Companies is proud to work with BASF to help Vital Solidarity Network’s important aid efforts that oppose COVIDArrayArray , which protects Indonesian smallholder farmers and their families from the effects of the pandemic.

The Lampung Project, a collaborative sustainable progression assignment presented through Solidarity Network, BASF, The Estée Lauder Companies and The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) in 2018, is an ongoing initiative to publicize sustainable production of palm oil and palm oil. The allocation is for 1,000 small independent Indonesian farmers with the aim of improving their livelihoods and sustainable production of palm oil and palm oil. It provides continuous and technical education on the implementation and maintenance of sustainable palm oil practices. The objective of the task is to offload certification for at least one third of small producers receiving assistance according to the small popular RSPO producer after 3 years. Allocation partners are working with the Indonesian government to announce a source chain of sustainable palm oil production in Lampung that does not contribute to deforestation and is competitive in the global market, while expanding social and economic benefits for farmers.
