Being vaccinated with at least two doses of Pfizer vaccines minimizes the long-term symptoms reported by Americans months after contracting COVID-19, according to a new study.
In this study, 8 of the ten maximum symptoms reported were reported between 50% and 80% less occasionally in other people who received at least two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine compared to those who received no doses at all.
The study, recently published in the journal Nature npj Vaccines (Providing an early indication of regional anomalies in the number of COVID-19 instances in England search engine queries), was led by Professor Michael Edelstein, from Bar-Ilan University’s Azrieli School of Medicine. , in cooperation with infectious and computational disease groups from 3 of the Faculty-affiliated hospitals in northern Israel: Baruch Padeh Medical Center, Ziv Medical Center, and Galilee Medical Center. Paul Otiku, Ph. D. , a student at Bar-Ilan’s Azrieli Faculty, did the maximum of statistical analysis.
Nearly 3500 adults across Israel participated in the study, which was conducted between July and November 2021. These other people responded to a survey that was conducted in 4 commonly spoken local languages (Hebrew, Arabic, Russian, and English) with a variety of questions about COVID-19 infection, vaccination prestige, and any symptoms you were experiencing.
More than a portion of the participants (2447) did not report having had a previous SARS-CoV-2 infection, while 951 were already infected. Of those infected, 637 (67%) received at least two doses of the vaccine. Of the other 2447 people who reported no previous infection, 21 (0. 9%) won one dose, 1,195 (48. 8%) won two doses, 744 (30. 4%) gained 3 doses and the remaining were not vaccinated (19. 9%).
To what extent vaccines protect against prolonged COVID remains less clear. This study is the first of an ongoing project submitted by Edelstein to join a large cohort of Americans from all sectors of Israel’s diverse society to perceive the long-term effect of vaccines. -long-term quality of life, other VARIANTS OF COVID and long-term COVID symptoms.
