Bangladesh needs Thailand’s help and expertise to improve the country’s tourism sector, which is lagging behind despite its immense potential.
Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen made the comment during a courtesy call through Thailand’s Permanent Secretary-designate Sarun Charoensuwan at the Foreign Ministry.
Momen also more Thai investment in infrastructure development, agribusiness, fitness and the pharmaceutical sector.
The Minister, under pressure, wants to forge a more powerful and effective regional collaboration through the facilitation of greater connectivity in the region, and called for mutual projects to take advantage of complementarities between the countries.
Momen also sought a more proactive role for Thailand, and ASEAN in general, for the immediate and sustainable repatriation of the Rohingya population to Myanmar.
Charoensuwan insisted on holding the joint commission assembly as soon as possible and advised serious consideration of concluding a flexible industrial agreement to strengthen bilateral industry.
