Baltimore COVID Testing to Close This Week, Bringing Down Hospitalizations

The State Center’s vaccination, testing and remedy site in Baltimore, Maryland, will close Saturday after more than a year of offering COVID-19 facilities to residents.

It opened in November 2021 and introduced loose shots and boosters, testing services, home testing and KN95 mask for all ages.

“This unprecedented public fitness emergency has created a historic partnership that has helped thousands of Marylanders get the COVID they need, without barriers of any kind,” said Department of Health Secretary Dr. Anna S. Simpson. Laura Herrera Scott, in a statement.

The outlet has conducted more than 40,000 tests and more than 12,000 vaccinations since its inception two years ago.

“It’s a testament to the paintings so many other people have done here that we can now shift COVID facilities to local fitness departments and systems, knowing Maryland is in good hands with our fitness professionals and local partners across the state. “Scott said.

Hospitalizations from the virus have dropped in the state by nearly 50% since the beginning of the year, and with the federal public fitness emergency coming to an end in May, MDH has to “consolidate” its facilities to focus on other vital fitness issues.

“Through this collaboration, we were able to assess, vaccinate, and care for so many members of our network at a time when it was needed most,” said Dr. Brown. Mindy Kantsiper, deputy director of COVID tasks at Baltimore Convention Center Field Hospital. Strength.

“Our motto has been ‘One Team’. A fight,” and we know our paintings will be remembered as Maryland’s reaction to the pandemic.

Residents still seeking vaccines and testing locations can locate the more than three hundred locations across the state on the department’s website.
