Bahréin. La preacher’s sentence was upheld by the court

The Bahrain court in Cairo has upheld a one-year criminal sentence against a preacher convicted of abusing the 7th-century orthodox caliphs of Islam, who ruled after the death of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), it said a press report on Tuesday.

The ruling, which is now final, was delivered in the past through an unscrupulous court after an investigation found that the defendant delivered a sermon at a place of worship where he ridiculed the Orthodox caliphs and partners of the Prophet, the Bahraini newspaper Akhbar Al Khaleej reported.

The guy was arrested and brought to justice after investigations in which he faced evidence of his involvement in the defamation incident.

In its arguments, the prosecution showed that freedom of opinion and expression is enshrined in Bahrain’s letter and law, provided that freedom violates religion, its precepts and symbols, or that it generates discord and intolerance, according to the report.

The exact date and location of the crime was provided.
