Bahrain to award jasrah exchange improvement contract in fourth quarter of 2022

Three advertising offers sent

Bahrain’s Ministry of Public Works, Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning is expected to award the main contract for the $45 million Jasrah exchange upgrade (AMAS Access Improvement – Lot 4) through the fourth quarter of 2022.

“The evaluation of the bids is underway lately and the contract award is expected in mid-November 2022,” a source familiar with the main points of the assignment told Zawya Projects.

The tender was submitted on January 31, 2022 and the bids were submitted on May 22, 2022, according to the Bahrain Tender Board. The opening date of the technical folds is May 23, while the opening of the announcement ends on August 22, 2022.

Commercial offers were submitted through Haji Hassan Group ($27 million), Nass Contracting Co. ($35 million) and Cebarco Bahrain ($32 million).

The scope of the paintings consists of the enhancement of the Jasra Interchange offering a 466 m long left overflight between the Janabiya Expressway and the Sheikh Isa Bin Salman Highway (SIBSH) and also includes the installation and replacement of existing parapets on five bridges.

The task is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2025, he told Zawya Projects at one point.

SSH Design, in collaboration with Mott MacDonald, performs pre- and post-engineering consulting for the design and supervision of the road and bridges, as a component of the expansion and modernization of the Sheikh Isa Bin Salman Expressway.

Consulting facilities come with feasibility studies, initial and detailed designs, and the provision of bidding facilities to the ministry. SSH will also provide consumer monitoring facilities for structural work.

Al Madina Al Shamaliya (AMAS) is one of the housing projects initiated through the Government of Bahrain from Bahrain Vision 2030 and is funded through the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development Fund (KFAED).
