The works come with the structure of solar power plants on roofs, on the ground and in parking lots
The Bahrain Water and Electricity Authority (EWA) is expected to announce the winner of its tender for a multi-site, grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) allocation in Sakhir in the first quarter of 2023.
The assignment is acquired through a Build-Own-Operate-Maintain (BOOM) contract for a period of 20 years.
The Request for Proposals published on August 17, 2022 with a deadline of October 16, 2022 to submit bids.
“The BOOM contract is expected to be awarded in early January 2023,” a source familiar with the main points of the assignment told Zawya Projects.
The scope of the paintings includes the structure of solar photovoltaic plants on roofs, floors and parking lots and charging stations for cars at the Bahrain International Circuit, the University of Bahrain, the Bahrain Exhibition and Tourism Authority and the Al Dana Amphitheater.
The allocation is expected to be completed through the current quarter of 2025, he said, adding that his estimate of the cost of the allocation is $100 million.
