BA. 2, the newest variant of COVID-19, has now been discovered in 17 states and 49 countries. The number of cases in the EE. UU. es less than 100, but everyone knows that it is an undercount.

Here are the states where BA. 2 has been so far:

The map is constantly evolving and most states have discovered only one case. Arizona has detected 17, while 11 instances have emerged in California. The sliding scale shows the number of instances instead of the number of tests.

At this time, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention does not provide knowledge of BA. 2 as a separate omicron sublineage, although the World Health Organization does. But don’t be surprised if the CDC starts tracking BA. 2 more intensively in the coming days. , especially if cases continue to grow in Europe.

In Western Europe, BA. 2 accounts for 10,800 COVID-19 cases, representing approximately 1% of all COVID-19 cases worldwide.

The Nordic countries have so far had the highest number of cases. As of Thursday, Denmark had 8,357 cases, Sweden 224 cases and the United Kingdom 607 cases. The Public Health Agency of Canada says it has discovered 51 cases, most of them foreign travellers.

BA. 2 now accounts for almost a share of all new COVID-19 cases in Denmark. The Danes say the new variant appears to be more contagious but does not cause more serious ailments, at least not yet.

Despite the new instances and the new variant, Denmark reopens on February 1 as if there were no considerations about the virus. Bars, restaurants and theaters will be widely open to consumers and mask regulations will not apply. In recent weeks, Denmark has recorded more than 46,000 cases on average, but Health Minister Magnus Heunicke said another 40 people were recently in hospital intensive care units, part of the number of intensive care cases the country recorded in early January.

Journalists, other people start looking for data on BA. 2. You can see that the trend accelerates in Google search.

Epidemiologist Dr. Katelyn Jetelina states that the BA. 2 variant has about 85 mutations from previous editions of the virus. This is attractive because you won’t forget that the omicron variant, the dominant variant in the U. S. The U. S. government at this time, it had 60 mutations, and it surprised scientists that it can evolve so quickly. This raises the suspicion that this edition of the virus passed from humans to an animal species and returned to humans, which would involve many changes. But those are just guesses for now.

We don’t yet know how effective anti-BA. 2 vaccines will be. If it spreads much further, it will most likely get its own Greek letter name. It’s worth noting that other variants have come and gone without causing massive disruption. We will soon see how this edition of the virus works. And yes, there is already a BA. 3 variant as well.

Keep in mind that this information is a week old, but still relevant. The American Academy of Pediatrics and the Children’s Hospital Association report that more than 1. 1 million children tested positive for COVID-19 in the week ending Jan. 20. That’s 17 percent from last week and doubled the cases recorded two weeks earlier.

For a physical care employee to comply with the federal mandate to get vaccinated, they would have to have won their first dose of the vaccine in 25 states. The mandate will soon take effect for the rest of the country.

All donors potentially eligible to do so without stigma. We are also requesting a briefing within the next 30 days on the agency’s plan to update its blood donation policies for “men who have sex with men. “

Axios has an engaging vision of how stores allow consumers to be inundated with Valentine’s Day messages. Axios Reports:

An increasing number of retailers, florists, media corporations and others are taking a considered marketing approach, seeking to flood their consumers with ads that harm them.
