Azerbaijani sailors won the “Sea Cup” festival organized as part of the “International Army Games – 2020,” Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense announced on September 3.
According to the final effects of the general stages, the Azerbaijani and Russian sailors won the adjustment on September 3.
Military sailors from countries conducted “Artillery Fire on Air Targets”, “Use of Rescue Equipment”, “Anchoring and Mooring of Ships” training at the Caspian Sea Combat Training Range.
It should be noted that the final rite of the “Sea Cup” festival and the award rite of the winning groups will take place on September 4.
The foreign festival “Sea Cup” will be held within the framework of the International Army Games – 2020 in the territorial waters of Azerbaijan in the Caspian Sea from August 25 to September 4 of this year.
On 25 August, Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov and Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu inaugurated the opening of the Sea Cup festival at the Buta naval base of Azerbaijan’s naval forces.
On 17 August, the Russian Navy’s Caspian flotilla arrived in Baku to participate in the “International Army Games-2020”. Among the Russian Flotillas of the Caspian arriving in Azerbaijan, there are small gunboats “Makhachkala” and “Astrakhan” and the rescue tugboat “SB-738”.
Iran and Kazakhstan will not participate in this year’s “Sea Cup” festival due to COVID-19, which was discussed at the video convention with the participants of the contest that was held at the Azerbaijan Naval Forces headquarters on the 13th. August.
Azerbaijan in Tank Biathlon
Meanwhile, Azerbaijani tankers have qualified for the final phase of the “Tank Biathlon” festival organized within the framework of the “International Army Games – 2020.
Azerbaijani tankers will compete with Russia, China and Belarus in the final circular on September 5.
The Azerbaijani tank team participated in the first department of the “Tank Biathlon” competition, which also included Belarus, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Serbia and Uzbekistan.
According to the festival draw held on 17 August in Moscow, Azerbaijan and Russia compete with red tanks in the first division, while Belarus and Uzbekistan with blue tanks, Serbia and Kazakhstan with yellow tanks, China and Kyrgyzstan with green tanks.
The “Tank Biathlon” festival will be held in the educational domain of the Russian army in Alabyno, near Moscow, until September 5.
During the competition, the crews demonstrate their driving, shooting and obstacle clearance skills. The army terrain consists of other sites with walls, ditches, firing lines, and lines.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani army participated for the first time in the “Tank Biathlon” festival in 2016 and came in fourth place after competing with groups from Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan in the last relay race.
