At least 20 in bus accident in southwestern Colombia

At least 20 other people were killed and at least 14 injured in a twist of trafficking fate in southwestern Colombia.

The fatal twist of fate occurred Saturday morning on the Pan-American Highway a few kilometers north of Pasto, the capital of Nariño province.

A survivor of the crash told local media that the bus driver said “we are without brakes” before losing his vehicle that overturned after going off the road.

The driving force was among the fatalities of the accident.

Survivors may have prevented the bus from catching fire as a result of the accident.

“The tragedy may have been worse,” a survivor treated at the Past Municipal Hospital told Blu radio.

The Transipiales bus travels from Tumaco, a town on the Pacific coast, to Cali, the capital of Valle del Cauca province.

The twist of fate happened on a holiday weekend that many other people in Colombia spend on vacation or stopover in the family.

The Ministry of Transport has suggested to others that they consciously lead to more tragedies on one of the country’s roads.
