Armenian tour operators focus on national hiking to COVID-19 and have an effect on Armenian news agency ARMENPRESS

YEREVAN, AUGUST 4, ARMENPRESS. In the absence of scheduled flights and foreign tourism due to the COVID-19 pandemic, tour operators and travel agencies in Armenia are reorganizing their paintings on the consequences and providing Armenians with nationally organized trips.

One such agency is Vardan Travel, which presented almost exclusively issuing destinations to readers before the pandemic. The executive director, Vardan Sargsyan, said that he had personally begun to tour Armenia to locate the best places for recreation, and this aroused interest among others and many wanted to join.

“People started writing to me and asked me to sign up for us. I to organize attractive tours and the first destination was chosen to be Syunik,” he told ARMENPRESS.

“I can’t say you’re touring us a lot nationally,” he said.

“As soon as flights resume, I intend to continue to focus on departure destinations, however, I must say that I like the concept of finding tourist sites in Armenia and that we would possibly organize those trips several times a month,” he said.

His company, One Way Tour, is new to national tourism, but now offers new places unknown to travelers.

“Today, the call to recreational hotels is strong. Hiking is also a call, though. Many others prefer quite unknown places, more remote provinces,” said Lusine Hakobyan, director of the One Way Tour. One such destination is Horbategh, a town in Vayots Dzor known for its herbal spring.

Riding in Dilijan and rafting are also among travelers, he said.

Akobyan says they pay special attention to coronavirus rules and that protecting their consumers is their most sensible priority.

Anriva Travel Company, known for providing arrangements for Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Tunisia, also works nationally on those days.

Most travelers prefer the goris-Tatev destination, as do Sevan, Dilijan, Haghartsin, Haghpat and Akhtala, says Hripsime Stambultsyan, CEO of Anriva. She says most travelers are looking for recreational activities at the hotel. But Stambultsyan argues that travel agencies can only offer domestic travel.

“The hotels are expensive. Many have stayed those days. You want 60,000 drams for a day at a general hotel with breakfast for two adults and two children. It’s not that simple for other people who receive between 150 and 200,000 drams,” he said. Said.

Stambultsyan has 30 workers in his agency, but 29 of them are on unpaid leave. The volume of calls for domestic tourism is such that a worker has been reinstated.

“Our only hope is that flights will resume and the roads are open. We can reintegrate our workers with exits. If only one flight consistent with the week was inconsistent with hatred, agencies could gradually reintegrate their workers. Today we are not clear, we do not know when or what will happen,” he said, adding that they want to know the deadlines for resuming flights to start the paperwork and marketing.
