Armenia opens to travelers as RESTRICTIONs on COVID-19 state of emergency eased ARMENPRESS Armenian News Agency

YEREVAN, AUGUST 12, ARMENPRESS. The extended state of emergency related to coronavirus will have milder restrictions than before, Justice Minister Rustam Badasyan said in the cabinet assembly amid the decline in the number of COVID-19 infections in Armenia.

Armenia is now open to travellers, with the elimination of the ban on non-citizens.

At the same time, it is anticipated that upon entering Armenia, if the traveler is not hospitalized, he will have to be quarantined for 14 days, however there is an innovation, he can be tested those 14 days and in case of a negative result, the regime of auto-term is changed,” Badasyan said.

The national prohibition on meetings and removals is also lifted and repositioned by means of an authorisation regulation, provided that the rules of protection are followed. Assemblies can only take up position if participants wear masks and remain within 1.5 meters of others.

It is also allowed to organize celebrations and shows, but with a maximum of 40 participants and the regulations on coronavirus.

Restrictions on shipments across the customs border are also lifted. Regulation on electronic surveillance is restricted.

The state of emergency, declared in Armenia in mid-March to combat the coronavirus pandemic, has been extended again and will be in effect until 11 September.
