ANT and Dec were forced to pull out of a Britain’s Got Talent special and the National Television Awards with Covid.
The pair has suspended all their commitments and is resting at home.
A BGT spokesperson said: “Ant and Dec are fine and have postponed all painting commitments until they recover.
“Unfortunately, they were unable to film Britain’s Got Talent: The Ultimate Magician. While we wish them a speedy recovery, we are excited to verify that BGT’s favourite magician, Stephen Mulhern, has intervened. “
And a representative for the couple said: “After feeling unwell, Ant and Dec were tested for covid and tested positive.
“The duo will postpone their professional commitments until their convalescence. “
The two-hour show, which features legendary trickster Penn Jillette as a guest judge, will see 10 of the world’s biggest names in magic compete for a £50,000 prize.
US website TVZone reported that Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams would be the juror, and Penn would replace Simon Cowell, who is busy with other filming commitments.
Ant and Dec will be disgusted to miss the NTA: a satisfied hunting floor for the couple for two decades with 20 wins from the host to their names.
The duo returned from South Africa where they filmed a special I’m A Celebrity.
During their stay, they celebrated Dec’s birthday.
Marking the host’s big day, the team wore party hats and surprised Dec with confetti as he was pulled out of his car.
Ant asked his spouse in the crime, “How does it feel to have your birthday on I’m a celebrity day?”
“It’s weird, right?!” replied Dec.
They filmed Dec opening his presents.
Ant presented him with packets of Biltong, dried meat that is very South African.
They captioned the message: “Happy Birthday Dec! ?
“We can’t celebrate Dec’s birthday in #ImACeleb. I hope he doesn’t bite more than he can chew. . . ?? #ItsAllGoneBiltong. “
The presenters shared a video of Kruger National Park, where the Australian I’m A Celeb is filmed.
Dec told his followers: “We have news. This is television’s least kept secret.
“But we can verify that we’re doing an I’m A Celebrity series. . . Get me out of here in South Africa. Look at this joint. “
Ant joked, “No one told me,” adding, “We’re here, right?”
Dec said: “These will be the celebrities of the last 20 years who will do it again once they return to South Africa. “
Ant asked, “But are we going to Australia, Declan?”
He replied, “Yes, we are. This year, we’re going to come back. Normal Australia 2022 and South Africa 2023”.
The lineup is partly shrouded in secrecy Amir Khan, Paul Burrell and Helen Flanagan are all involved.
