On Friday, interim police commissioner Motti Cohen strongly rejected allegations of protests of police violence opposed to Netanyahu.
“I am aware of the speech around the Israeli police, some of whom will have to be heard conscientiously as valid critics,” Cohen said in a police statement. “But, unfortunately, there are also incendiary and destructive discourses that border on incitement. “it will have to be cut — and immediately.
Cohen said Israeli society is dealing with “one of the most confusing and delicate periods” in its history and rejected any political motivation on the part of the police.
Last weekend’s demonstration included court cases of police violence, and opposed Jerusalem’s chief superintendent, Niso Guetta, who was filmed pushing and beating a protester during the demonstration.

Despite Supreme Court petitions opposing Guetta, police said they would also send him to Saturday’s demonstration.
Guetta claims she assaulted through the protesters and did not use superior force. The Department of Internal Police Investigations of the Ministry of Justice investigated the matter.
