An old man died of COVID-19 in the Mescalero Apache tribe

An elder of the Mescalero Apache tribe is the time of COVID-19-related death of a reserve resident.

The woman’s call was not made known to the media.His death was announced on August 18 through the Mescalero Apache tribe.

“We are a small network and each and every death hurts,” Tribal President Gabe Aguilar said in a press release.”Our prayers are with the family.”

According to the tribe, the woman had been ill for several weeks, but gave the impression that she was recovering.

“She fought hard but eventually didn’t survive,” Aguilar said.

It is one of 723 reported deaths in the state as a result of the pandemic.More than 23,500 other people in the state tested positive, according to the New Mexico Department of Health (DOH).

The first COVID-19-related death of a tribe member occurred in late May and also of an elderly woman.

“We know that the virus aims for the elderly,” Aguilar said.”The tribe is doing everything in its power for them and the net paintings as a whole.And we’ll keep painting about it.”

As a component of these efforts, the tribe was limited to the reserve, the mandatory use of mask in public and other measures have been taken to curb the spread of the virus, according to Aguilar.

There are 55 positive cases in the Mescalero reserve, according to DOH data.But the tribe says that 61 other people tested positive; 52 citizens and nine non-resident tribe members.The tests were conducted through the physical conditioning services of India, the DOH and “other entities”, according to Array of the tribe.

According to the tribe, as of August 18, a total of 6,070 tests were conducted, with 5,905 negative results.

There are 4 other quarantined people in the reserve. The tribe reported 55 recoveries.

Otero County reports 211 cases with 11 deaths.
