Brewing America’s beer density meter and beer alcohol density check kits are recording record sales of COVID-19, largely due to the upward trend in home hand sanitizer manufacturing.
PORTLAND, Oregon, August 14, 2020 / PRNewswire / – Brewing America, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of hydrometer verification kits for alcohol, beer and brewing, recently reported record online sales since the start of COVID-19. The company’s explosive sales, which double those before the pandemic, are attributed to a new trend emerging from the pandemic: the manufacture of home hand sanitizers.

The company’s products have been widely used by beer and home brewing enthusiasts in recent years. According to CEO and corporate spokesman Kyle Hove, his latest sales boom comes from one source: coronavirus and hand sanitizers.
“We are seeing a massive leap in the trend of making home hand sanitizers, which we didn’t expect. This is having a massive effect on our market and the hydrometer industry right now. People are locating uses for hydrometers beyond the classic home beer,” Hove says.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, market research has shown an explosion of homemade recipes for the manufacture of hand sanitizers on the Web, selling DIY formulas that people get familiar with the spread of the virus with a source through hand disinfection at home.
Hove says ordering hand sanitizers has caused excessive product shortages at points of sale and online, and as a result, other people are turning to making their own. Further afield, many distilleries across the country have begun generating and promoting hand sanitizers. The FDA recently issued a transitory policy that allows brands such as ethanol to produce alcohol for use in hand sanitizers.
“Alcohol density check kits are used to measure the density of the fermenting liquid and help the volume of alcohol it produces. This is a very vital step in the brewing procedure in the production house and now hand sanitizer. The FDA states that hydrometers are an appropriate approach to determining the alcohol content of these solutions,” Hove continues.
Brewing America offers a variety of densimetric alcohol products on its website, ranging from undeniable hydrometers to complete verification kits. The circle of family members and companies owned by American veterans manufactures and purchases nearly all of its products and parts in the United States alone. To date, the company has won thousands of awards from amateur brewers for its safe and quality products and those of local brewers and breweries.
With its recent increase, the company continues to grow, recently launching a blood-free brewed coffee formula with a patented lid, the first of its kind on the market. With a wide open Mason jar, emptied and funnel, the product is expected to cause a stir in the home brewing industry, adding prepared teas, alcohol and bloodless brewing.
