“In the early afternoon, we gained a notification that Coach Saban and (AD) Greg Byrne tested positive for COVID-19,” the school said in a statement. “They both left the facility and went home to isolate themselves after receiving this information. “
“I informed our team of my positive check at 2 p. m. today a Zoom call and I informed them that offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian will oversee the arrangements for the complex while I paint from home,” Saban said in a statement.
Saban, 68, added that he had developed some COVID-19-like symptoms and then told reporters Wednesday night that he felt “fine. “
