The Contingent of the Royal Oman Army, which arrived in India on July 31, participated in the event after the start of training on August 1, which was attended by 60 members from its side and the 18th Mechanized Infantry Battalion of the Indian Army. During the event, an army officer said the training was an ideal platform for both servicemen to share their experiences.
“The training provided an ideal platform for the workers’ corps of any of the armies to report percentages and expand a mutual understanding of each other’s technique to the fashionable demanding situations of terrorism and regional security,” Brigadier Jitesh Saia said.
The main objective of this training is to achieve interoperability and become familiar with operational procedures and combat training in a counter-terrorism environment under a United Nations mandate. And both armies were able to achieve the announced objectives.
“The Indian contingent belonged to the 18th Battalion of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment and the contingent of the Royal Army of Oman was represented through the Parachute Regiment of the Sultan of Oman,” he said.
The training took position in 3 phases. The first phase of orientation and familiarization with the weapons, apparatus and tactical training of each one through attractive contingents. The fighting conditioning of the moment phase, the formulas of the joint trainings and their implementation.
The final phase consisted of 48 hours of validation training of key workouts and concepts learned during the first two phases. The two contingents jointly participated in validation training that included the status quo of a cellular vehicle checkpoint, cordon and search operations, helicopter insertion, indoor reaction training, and effective use of the ICV in the counterterrorism environment. The training also included the effective use of advanced ‘Dhruv’ indigenous light helicopters, drones and various next-generation technologies,” he added.
He noted that the training was a resounding success. He further said that the two armies are engaged in a valuable struggle in terms of counter-terrorism, regional security and peacekeeping operations in a foreign environment.
