More than six hundred flights were canceled and thousands more were delayed in the United States on Saturday, according to FlightAware’s flight tracking.
Saturday marks the third day of major flight cancellations after thunderstorms battered major East Coast airports on Thursday, making it one of the worst days of flight cancellations in six weeks.
This summer season has been marked by flight cancellations and delays, with airlines facing staff shortages, excessive weather situations and air traffic control delays.
On Saturday night, at least 636 flights to, within or from the United States were canceled, and another 5,921 domestic flights were delayed, according to FlightAware.
Newark Liberty International and Chicago Midway International Airport top the list of U. S. airports. The U. S. with the most canceled flights reported flight tracking.
American Airlines canceled four and delayed 2 quarters of its flights saturday, according to the site. Meanwhile, United had four of its flights canceled and 23 delayed, and Delta had 2 canceled and 22 flights delayed, FlightAware reported.

CNN has reached out to other domestic airlines for comment on Saturday’s delays and cancellations. Amid a wave of flight cancellations and a spate of passenger court cases, the U. S.
