WASHINGTON (AP) – White House officials said Friday that President Donald Trump experienced only “benign symptoms” after the announcement that he and the first girl, Melania Trump, had tested positive for COVID-19.
Trump announced his positive check friday morning, taking on Washington and the rest of the country in a further turmoil just a month before the presidential election. Hours earlier, the president had announced that Hope Hicks, one of his closest advisers with whom he had recently traveled. , had become inflamed and that he and the first had begun to quarantine.
Questions remain about others the president contacted in the days leading up to his checkup who were inflamed with the virus.
