Africa: COVID-19 exceeds 1.08 million as death toll rises to 24660

The African Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC Africa) said Friday that the number of cases shown of COVID-19 in Africa had increased to 1084687, while the death toll was 24660.

The center, in its last updated on Friday, said the number of COVID-19 instances across the African continent increased from 1073,788 on Thursday to 1084,687 on Friday.

CDC Africa noted that the number of COVID-19-like deaths across the continent was higher across 404 deaths from 24,256 on Thursday to 24,660.

The Continental Agency for Disease Control and Prevention also reported that the number of other people recovering from COVID-19 infections has also reached 780,076 so far.
