TAMPA, FL – Hillsborough County is opening a room for citizens to get free COVID-19 tests.
Beginning Monday, Jan. 24, the parking lot at Adventure Island, 10001 N McKinley Drive, Tampa, will be open from nine to nine o’clock. M. A Cinco P. M. every day for citizens who wish to get a free COVID-19 test.
This is a drive-thru service and no appointment is necessary.
To get a COVID-19 check on Adventure Island, citizens will enter the park’s parking lot near East Bougainvillea Avenue. Vehicles heading north on McKinley Drive will turn right onto East Bougainvillea Avenue and then take the first right to enter the checkpoint. Heading south on McKinley Drive, turn left onto East Bougainvillea Avenue and then take the first right to enter the checkpoint. Traffic signs will direct visitors to the entrance.
Adventure Island is closed seasonally.
This is the fourth site where residents can receive COVID-19 testing. All four sites offer free COVID-19 tests, including the rapid antigen test, which provides a result in about three hours, and the PCR test, which provides results in about 48 hours.

Progress Village Park, 8701 Progress Blvd. , Tampa, open from nine to nine a. m. M. A Cinco P. M. This is a walk-in COVID-19 testing site.
West Tampa Community Resource Center, 2103 N Rome Ave. , Tampa, open from nine a. m. to 19 p. m. M. A Cinco P. M. Every day. It is a walk-in center that offers free COVID-19 testing, vaccines, pediatric Pfizer vaccines, booster shots for those who are eligible, and curative monoclonal antibody treatment.
Residents wanting monoclonal antibody therapy treatment must make an appointment. Appointments can be made at patientportalfl.com.
The West Tampa Community Resource Center also administers the pediatric Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to children ages five to 11 who are accompanied by their parents or legal parents to verbally verify the child’s age.
For all services, evidence of health insurance is recommended and must be presented at the time of the visit. People without health insurance will be tested, vaccinated or given monoclonal antibody treatment for free.
The Hillsborough County Office of Emergency Management is asking the public not to arrive at the county’s COVID-19 testing sites until they open at nine a. m. County staff will open the front door at nine a. m. M. Y will start seeing other people at that time.
There are other locations in the county, in addition to local pharmacies, that offer COVID-19 testing and vaccinations.
