The leader of the Bharatiya Janata (BJP), Lal Krishna Advani, 92, denied on Friday all the fees that were against him in the babri Masjid demolition case in 1992 and accused the EU government of making his opponents.
Advani gave the impression before the Special Court of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is aware of the case, of recording his statements via videoconference from his apartment in New Delhi. His lawyer, KK Mishra, represented Advani before the CBI court in Lucknow.
“LK Advani answered a hundred questions during court proceedings. He denied all accusations opposed to him in Babri Masjid’s demolition case and found the central government guilty that day for the fabricated fees opposed to him,” Mishra said.
The trial for the demolition of the Babri Mosque is lately at the level of registration of the statements of those accused under article 313 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CPP), which the accused have the opportunity to refute the evidence against them.
With Advani’s statement, the CBI court finalized the recording of the 32 defendants’ statements in the demolition case, with the exception of Shiv Sena’s leader Satish Pradhan, who conducted the Covid-19 test and is quarantined in Mumbai.
The court established an order on July 28 in Pradhan to sign his online registration.
Another defendant, Om Prakash Pandey of Uttarakhand, fled for years and the CBI court ordered the seizure of his assets.
All the defendants denied them the fees.
Another high-ranking BJP leader, Murli Manohar Joshi, 86, gave the impression in court.
The Babri Mosque was destroyed on December 6, 1992 by “kar sevaks” who believed it had been built at the birthplace of the Hindu god Ram. The decades-old dispute was resolved last year when the Supreme Court ordered the site to be surrendered to an agreement as true to build a temple. The court also ordered that Ayodhya be provided with land chosen for a mosque. Advani, Joshi and others have been accused of being involved in the plot to demolish the mosque.
The laying of the base stone of the temple is expected to take place in the first week of August in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Advani is expected to attend the event.
In April 2017, the Supreme Court ordered the special court to conduct a daily trial of the demolition case and conclude it in two years. The deadline expired on April 19. On 8 May, the Supreme Court issued a new deadline on August 31 with terms of sentencing until that time.
