Dear Sunshine Coast Residents:
As many of you already know, one of our friends and neighbors in the Shishálh Nation was recently exposed to COVID-19 and is lately self-insulating.Fortunately, there is no evidence of network propagation at this time.Unfortunately, this is another reminder that we’ll all have to stay alert when it comes to preventing an outbreak here on the coast.
Across the province, the amount of COVID-19 continues to increase, and here on the coast we continue to see dozens of others with possible COVID-19 symptoms every day at the Respiratory Assessment Clinic. On Friday, September 4, the Respiratory Assessment Clinic will expand to seven days a week to accommodate the volume of building augmentation we are seeing. We expect numbers to continue to increase in the coming weeks and months and are working hard to expand our ability so that everyone who needs proof can be tested at the right time.
Part of the expansion of our capacity is to expedite the electronic reserve procedure for the Respiratory Assessment Clinic.Anyone with symptoms can now do an electronic test directly for a test.If you want to talk to a doctor before the test or if you think you want to do so.be evaluated through a doctor, tell our ebooking manager and a doctor will contact you before booking for a test. There will be a doctor on site every day for anyone who requires additional evaluation.
Please note that we only check for others with possible symptoms of COVID-19.While there is evidence that other people can transmit COVID-19 before they develop symptoms and even if they never become symptomatic, the existing detection criteria for COVID-19 in Britain Columbia do not come with others without symptoms. This is mandatory through the Office of Public Health and applies to the province, so do not register for verification if you have no symptoms.
The above applies even if you have been exposed to a known case of COVID-19. If you are close to a user who has tested positive, that is, you have been within two meters of that user without caution for at least 15 minutes., will be played directly through Public Health. You will want to isolate yourself for 14 days from the date of exposure. If you expand coVID-19 symptoms this time, tap the Respiratory Assessment Clinic to set up the test.
If you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 but are not considered to be close contact, continue to apply the same usual precautions and monitor symptoms closely.Public Health will only touch you if you are considered to be in close contact. If you are in close contact with someone with COVID-19 and have not been touched by Public Health, please contact the Sechelt Health Unit at 604-885-5164 to discuss your desire for self-deasure.If you expand symptoms of COVID-19, tap the respiratory evaluation clinic to set up the test.
As we begin the school year, we know that there are many questions about the threat point in question and how we can protect our children, teachers, and other school staff from re-entering the classroom. This Thursday, September 3rd, our regional health physician, Dr. Mark Lysyshyn, will lead a back-to-school data consultation on Facebook Live.Log in thursday at noon if you would like to receive more information or ask we will provide more data in next week’s network update.
In the meantime, if you expand new symptoms that may simply be COVID-19 (however mild), stay at home and isolate yourself until you have been evaluated.DO NOT take a bus or taxi. Don’t go to work.DO NOT hit the steering wheel service on the way home.Don’t spend buying groceries (unless it’s online).DO NOT know others. Call the Respiratory Assessment Clinic, which is now open seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., to schedule tests. The Respiratory Assessment Clinic can be reached by phone or SMS at 604-740-1252 or by email [email protected].
Keep in mind that even if you have a negative sample, you will continue to stay at home and become ingsed until your symptoms go away.If your symptoms get worse, call the Respiratory Assessment Clinic or your family circle doctor for additional evaluation.
If you have more severe symptoms and think you may want to be admitted to the hospital, go to the Sechelt Hospital emergency branch. If you want an ambulance, call 911.Remember that the emergency service is open and for anyone who has a medical emergency.
With regard to non-emerging physical fitness disorders that are not similar to COVID-19, all medical clinics in our family circle lately reserve their own patients as well as others without a local circle of family doctors. Our local medical clinics remain open Monday through Friday, with Gibsons Medical Clinic providing overtime on Saturday mornings.
In order to provide as secure an environment as you can imagine for patients and staff, most health care will continue to be provided virtually. This is expected to continue for the foreseeable future. If you have a medical problem that requires a physical evaluation, an appointment will be scheduled in person.
If you think you have been exposed to COVID-19 after learning of an outbreak in a domain you have recently visited, the dates and locations of public displays on COVID-19 are online for the fitness region (Vancouver Coastal Health, Fraser Health InnerArray Health, Vancouver Island Health, Northern Health).
Health Canada has also created COVID Alert, a new iOS and Android app that will notify you if you’ve been close to who tested positive for COVID-19 (and who owns the app).your location or any identifying information.Lately it is only active in Ontario, however, it is expected to be introduced soon in Canada, so it is not a bad concept to download the app if you are interested in an additional layer of protection.
See the Coast Reporter and The Local Weekly for regular updates on COVID-19 in our community. As local parks, systems, and services open, visit the CSID Internet sites, Gibsons city, and Sechelt district for updates.
Stay well, wash your hands, stay away or wear a mask, stay local if you can, and continue to do so to keep our network safe!
Cordial greetings
