As schools open after months of closure following the COVID-19 pandemic, the Nigerian Academy of Education (NAE) has called on the government to release enough budget directly to schools to provide care to students.
The academy delivered its opinion at a joint firm through its president, Elizabeth Eke, and his advertising secretary, Owoicho Akpa, from which a copy was made to deliver to the hounds on Sunday in Abuja.
The school also indicated that training instructors and improving the learning environment precede the resumption of classes.
The academy’s control required public-private arrangements to increase the budget of schools, emphasizing that more school feeding was needed at the time of the exams.
According to the academy, COVID-19 has marked the beginning of a new generalization for all and is to adapt a new mindset so that public and personal schools can cope.
He noted that since all exams would be taken in the next 4 months, the total number of academics moving and in other exams would be huge and should be taken care of well.
“Parents have a final duty to know whether their children return to school or not, although with all scheduled exams, the temptation to stick to the flow can be very strong.
“Those who send their youth deserve not to be dissuade from doing so for lack of funds. They deserve to be able to act on their decision.
“The government and school principals will need to make sure the rules are followed.
“The guidance of teachers and students, briefly, is essential. Students and teachers will need to be evaluated.
“Schools will have to be smoked, the social distance must be respected, especially in the organization of the exams, it will be necessary to have a mask, with disinfectants, running water and soap.
“For schools without running water in rural areas, reservoirs will be provided. Audit and continuous monitoring controls are required, either through self-assessment or external inspectors.
“Schools in physically safe spaces deserve to be provided with armed security.”
The academy revealed that it will organize 3 webinars starting in August to discuss comprehensive methods for dealing with the short- and long-term effects of coronavirus.
The academy appreciated the government’s resolve to save the country from the shame of an open division of the Nigerian front, as some states exercised their rights to compete in education and send their academics to the WAEC exams.

“As a people, we will also have to make sure that this resolution is favourable to Nigeria and does not cause regret.
“We note that the resumption of schools in other climates, such as the United States, has exacerbated the virus. Precautionary measures have been learned from these reports.” (
