Nigeria’s largest retail bank, Access Bank PLC, has implored its consumers to be vigilant at these dubious times at a time when incidents of fraud are on the rise. Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic in the country, it has been necessary to close 3 major cities and yet across the country, the Bank has seen an increase in concern in reports of fraudsters targeting unsuspecting consumers.

This progression is all the more worrying, especially since these other people are not only professionally provided to look like a banking provider, but also use government palliatives as bait to collect customer NTVs and other key banking data.

According to Victor Etuokwu, executive director of retail banking at Access Bank Plc. Access Bank implores its consumers to be of any message, it is not easy to have their non-public or banking data.

Customers do not forget that the Bank will never request their BVN, full card PAN, PIN, mobile app activation code, OTP or password, as it is available seamlessly to the Bank through its database. Any call, email and SMS, pretending to be from Access Bank and not easy one of those details, is in fact a scam,” he concluded.

Access Bank has maintained a strong awareness of fraud as a component of its duty to protect the interests of its consumers. The Bank has compromised pages on its official online website that constantly inform consumers in all ways that scammers can let them down.

To report any suspicious fraud, consumers should call 01-2701005 or send an email to [email protected].
