Jerusalem – The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas continued on Sunday when Israeli police admitted Jewish visitors to a disputed sacred place in Jerusalem, where past clashes with Palestinian protesters helped trigger cross-border fighting in Gaza.
Police did not report incidents inside the al-Aqsa mosque, one of Islam’s holiest sites, as Israeli social media accounts showed a few dozen Jews kept devout garments walking around the site under surveillance.
A police spokesman described it as a normal scale scheduled after a recess that began on May 3 for the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The site is also respected by the Jews and is located in east Jerusalem, which Israel captured in the 1967 war.

This led to fiercest fighting between Israel and Hamas since the 2014 Gaza War, which ended with a truce before dawn on Friday, negotiated through Egypt with U. S. -backed support.
None of the aspects reported rape on Sunday morning. Egyptian mediators crossed the Gaza border and met with Hamas Palestinian rival Mahmoud Abbas, based in the West Bank, in an effort to ceasefire.

Doctors said rocket launch and a guided missile attack killed thirteen other people in Israel. Economists have said Israel’s recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic could be curbed by hostilities.
