The Egyptian Senate has challenged the European Parliament’s resolution of 24th November on human rights in Egypt.
On Thursday, the European Parliament issued a report calling for a “review” of the European Union with Egypt, in light of what it described as “simple progress” on human rights.
The Egyptian Senate said in a statement: “This resolution has not been alien to the European Parliament in years.
It has pursued positions and policies based on fragile and erroneous ideas, and has sought to claim that it possesses the strength to evaluate and hold others accountable outside the borders of its members, in violation of foreign rules and regulations.
The Senate continued: “Unfortunately, those are policies reminiscent of a European colonial legacy and reveal only a hidden preference for spreading the culture of a specific civilization, and those are things that no free country will accept, especially proud Egypt.
The Senate condemned and rejected in the strongest terms this decision, motivated by accusations that sought to publicize false accusations about Egypt’s human rights record.
“The council also rejects this illegitimate tutelage and blatant interference in Egypt’s internal affairs, which is incompatible with all norms,” he added.
The Senate affirms that Egypt respects – – all its treaty obligations and, moreover, its respect for the internal affairs of any State, believing in the Charter of the United Nations.
This is, of course, a factor of extraordinary importance for the maintenance of peace and security abroad and for the realization of the purposes and principles of the Charter.
He continued: “Egypt has achieved many vital national achievements in recent years in various fields, especially in the field of human rights. He presented the National Human Rights Strategy, convinced of the importance of preserving human rights in the search and renewal of the national nation. “State.
