COLLEYVILLE (CBSNewsTexas. com) – It’s been about a month since a devastating earthquake struck Syria and Turkey. The number of victims now stands at 50,000.
For more than two weeks, a psychiatrist has been on site, helping survivors with their intellectual health.

The Dallas-based psychiatrist said she has noticed the effect this has on intellectual health.
“Most of the other people you would see in Turkey or Syria are just terrified,” he said.
Working with the nonprofit MedGlobal, she joined the doctors in providing support.
For her, this was personal.
“As a Syrian-American, I’m very drawn to this,” she said. 10 times.
During his two weeks of painting in the crisis areas, he did everything he could.
“We were able to move on to other hospitals,” he said. We could see other patients who were on the floors. Being able to offer a fraction of what they needed was very rewarding. If treated properly, they can really enjoy some growth.
She said two weeks was not enough.
“I mean, you can’t do much as a doctor or, in our case, 3 psychiatrists,” he said.
That is why they have trained more than a hundred people on how to cope with intellectual fitness problems.
“We trained them in formative years trauma, mental recovery and retraumatization skills, human trafficking and made sure that together they took this data and taught it to others, so that they interfered when necessary,” she said.
She said that if there was a chance to come back, she would take it.
