CRETE, NE – The Peru State men’s basketball team defeated the Doane Tigers of Crete, Nebraska, 68-67, in the final six moments of the game. The Bobcats are now 2-0 on the season. Christian Tidiane (Jr. , Council Bluffs, IA) started the first half with a block followed by a jumper from David Wingett Jr. (Sr. , Winnebago, NE). at the other end of the field. AJ Richard (Jr. , Pearland, TX) led the team in the first half with thirteen digs and five rebounds Ajantae Hogan (Jr. , Lincoln, NE) had 8 digs for the Bobcats, followed by David Wingett Jr. Array, who got five . problems and 4 rebounds. The game was close at the end of the first half, tied at 32. Sayvon Traylor (Sr. , Atlanta, GA) came out hot in the second half, making a jump shot in the first ten moments of the halfArray David Wingett Jr. The Tigres could not stop him, adding 15 points and five rebounds in the second half. Sayvon Traylor and Ajantae Hogan left the section with six points and Hogan with three rebounds. The Bobcats could not be stopped by the Tigers as they battled until the end of the game. The Bobcats won on a David Wingett Jr. fumble, sealing the deal for a 68-67 victory. David Wingett Jr. led the team with 20 digs, nine rebounds and two blocks in the win over the Tigers.
