Expressing fear over the incident, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said: “I have heard that a chimney has been damaged on the third floor of the old building in Vallabh Bhavan. Based on the data obtained from the collector, I told the SC to monitor it, to accumulate detailed data on the incident and I also said that the chimney had been controlled.

“We have given orders that such an incident will not happen again. . . I hope that no such incident will happen again. . . “, the CM added.

Meanwhile, victims of the Harda firecracker factory explosion ended their 16-day hunger strike on Friday after MP Rajya Sabha and Congress leader Digvijaya Singh met with them, discussed their demands by phone with MP CM Mohan Yadav and obtained guarantees of compensation.

Singh discussed his demands with Chief Minister Yadav by phone during the protest and obtained reimbursement insurance until March 16. Singh ended the protesters’ strike by giving juice to the people.

On 6 February, a large fire broke out at a firecracker factory in the Bairagarh neighbourhood of Harda district, killing another 11 people and injuring 173 others. (ANI)
