Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said Wednesday that others with low immunity are more vulnerable to coronavirus infections and, under pressure, want the immune formula through safe and adequate food.
Speaking at the virtual launch of the Eat Right India Challenge through the food protection regulator FSSAI, the Minister said that a strong immune formula is not only vital to combating coronavirus, but also diseases such as tuberculosis.
“It is rightly said that food plays a vital role in strengthening immunity.Today, those other people are inflamed with COVID-19 whose immunity is not strong,” he said.
People who don’t focus on their nutrition have many deficiencies, which weaken their immune system, he said, and under pressure they want to eat smart foods.
“As a doctor, if a user concentrates on their diet and exercise, they can save themselves from the disease,” he added.
Arguing that there is a need for greater awareness of diet, the minister said this is because approximately 52% of deaths in India are due to noncommunicable diseases such as high blood pressure and diabetes.
In addition, the country has 196 million people suffering from chronic hunger, 500 million suffer from micronutrient deficiency, 180 million obesity, plus one hundred million cases of foodborne diseases, he added.
According to the knowledge of the Ministry of Health, there were 27.67 cases of COVID-19 lakh on Wednesday in the country.
On the “Eat Right India Challenge,” the Minister said it was a smart initiative to instill a sense of partying between cities and districts for regulatory compliance.
“But in calling for this initiative, the small media will not be harassed.Array, efforts will have to be made to engage them and inspire them to participate,” he said.
As a component of this one-year initiative, the first 150 cities and districts that enroll in the basis of the first service will be eligible for the initial investment for the challenge.197 districts/cities from 23 states have already been registered.
Selected districts and villages should carry out mandatory activities such as registration, licensing, follow-up and law enforcement, advertise an adequate food environment, and modify potential food options and other cutting-edge activities.
