Twelve others gave the impression in court of being convicted of a series of high-value thefts, adding the theft of “irreplaceable” books secured by 2 million pounds.
Approximately two hundred books were discovered underground in Neamt through Romanian officials on 16 September, the Metropolitan Police said.
They were stolen in January 2017 as part of what police described as a “big robbery” at a customs clearance depot in Feltham, west London.
This is one of a series of raids, adding some other raids where 500 MacBook computers, 520 iPhones, 240 Samsung tablets and 400 iPads were stolen, with a combined price of 340,000 euros, the court said.
The works of Galileo, Isaac Newton and Francisco Goya are among the stolen books and are irreplaceable and of foreign relevance.
They were stored in the warehouse before being sent to Las Vegas for an e-book auction, but the thieves drilled holes in the ceiling and made a reminder to the sensors.
After locating the books, they were packed in giant bags and escaped to the same place they entered, police said.
Agents suspected that thieves were part of a Romanian criminal organisation engaged in other thefts from high-value warehouses in the UK.

The Metropolitan Police worked with the Romanian National Police and the Italian carabinieri to retrieve the books. In June 2019, arrests and registrations of forty-five locations were held in the United Kingdom, Romania and Italy.
Detective Inspector Andy Durham of Specialist Crime South said: “These books are incredibly valuable, but above all they are irreplaceable and of importance to foreign cultural heritage. “
The investigation continued and led officials to locate the eBook this month.
Gavril Popinciuc, Marian Albu, Paul Popeanu, Traian Mihulca, Vasile Paragina, Marian Mamaliga, Victor Opariuc, Daniel David, Narcis Popescu, Ilie Ungureanu, Cristian Ungureanu and Liviu Leahu will be convicted on Thursday.
They gave the impression of the video link at Kingston Crown Court on Monday after pleading guilty to conspiracy to engage in robberies or conspiracy to hide and move property of criminals, or both.
They carried out 12 “high-value and well-planned” raids between December 2016 and April 2019, basically aimed at premises that contain a lot of expensive parts such as smartphones and laptops, prosecutor Catherine Farrelly said.
Feltham’s stolen books were the “main exception” to the group’s exploits, he said, because the stolen pieces had “immense cultural significance. “
Four members of the criminal network have flown to the UK from Romania, Farrelly said, before going to the warehouse, drilling holes in the perimeter fence and then cutting the building’s skylights shortly after 9 p. m.
Daniel David and Victor Opariuc rappeled, avoiding activating alarms on the sensors, before taking the books, the court heard.
The books were stored in a rented space in Balham, south London, before Marian Mamaliga and Ilie Ungureanu arrived in the UK to recover the stolen works and depart for the English Channel Tunnel in February this year.
Eleven robberies, some of which also saw thieves rappel from the roof, were carried out through the group, with stolen assets valued at about 2 million pounds.
