A complete list of COVID-19 outbreaks in Eagle County

Eagle County has reported 17 outbreaks since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Vail Daily reported on some of these epidemics with individual stories, but to provide a more complete picture of eagle county coronavirus trajectory, we compiled the full list here, with main points about the outbreak.

We will continue to update this list weekly as the status reports new active outbreaks and closes reports from others. To see the prestige of the epidemic, visit the state’s epidemic data website.

Just because an epidemic is indexed as active on the state’s website doesn’t mean it’s up and running, because the state only updates the database once a week.

Eagle County uses the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment epidemic definition, which corresponds to two or more cases shown of COVID-19 in a non-domestic with symptoms in 14 days.

This definition excludes things like the school district moving selected students and distance learning after a positive COVID-19 check as a precautionary measure. These measures, in fact, have prevented epidemics and transmission of the virus.

Anyone who thinks they have been exposed to the virus can be checked at one of the seven control sites in the Eagle River Valley, as well as at the control sites in the Roaring Fork Valley for those living in Basalt and El Jebel. site closest to you and a list of suppliers, click here.
