A brick of cocaine in a suitcase at Winnipeg Airport: RCMP

A Saskatoon guy arrested Thursday at the Winnipeg airport after a block of cocaine was discovered in a suitcase.

The incident occurred around 5:20 a. m. de thursday, when RCMP officials were called to the airport domain for the option of drugs in a suitcase.

Mounted police inspected the suitcase and discovered a block of what is believed to be cocaine, which weighed about 1. 2 kilograms.

Officers then headed to the airport’s departures domain and discovered the owner of the suitcase, who was on his way to Toronto.

The 25-year-old man was arrested for possession with the aim of trafficking. Police said he also faced charges of obstruction and identity theft after presenting a fake ID card to officers.

The suspect has been arrested and is scheduled to appear in a Winnipeg court on Friday.

The RCMP is proceeding with its investigation.
